Hi all,

I'm looking at a couple of free-ride boards (based on availability and price), just wondered if anybody has ridden them and what were your thoughts.

'05 F2 Stoke 117
'05 Mistral Synchro 116
'07 Tabou Rocket 115
'06 Fanatic Hawk 110

I've read as much as I can on these (and other) boards from the net so I'm looking for anyone's personal experience.

I want something that will be competent off the beach or on the river here in Perth and will also handle the choppy conditions in Moreton Bay when I move to Brisbane later this year.

I'd class myself as an intermediate sailor (competent at water-starts, ~75% gybe-rate), weigh 82kg and prefer blasting and b&j.

Thanks!

I have a 127L Stoke and am 95Kg. I use it with 7m and 8m and find it to be a great allrounder. It is not the quickest onto the plane (JP Xite) but handles really well as the wind and chop gets up. Took me a while to get used to it but really like it now. Hope this helps.

I Have a 07 115 ltr Stoke and I love it,it is very fast, gybes very well and gets through the chop. But the Rocket is another very good board from all the magazine test results.
