... light wind freestyle greatly increases your wind window, improves your skills, gives you a good work out, and gets your fix.

Any freestyle, that increases the range from "I don't go out unless 25 knots". Doesn't have to be lightwind: freestyle from say 12 to 20 surely doubles many guys outings. Resulting injuries are great too!

When I was doing uni wayyyyy inland, all we had was a small uni pond to windsurf on. We still had a club, good get together and gybing every 10 seconds or so.

Did piss poor on studies, but we all had great gybes and freestyle !

What uni?
I'm at Armidale
There is a pond, but dunno about killing the ducks and the weed
It does get some good wind but
Think it is reclaimed too, so dodgy

Here was Uni. of Waterloo, Ontario, which looks much like Armidale. Ironically, the exact worst possible place between the 3 great lakes. Pond was called Laurel Creek, much less than a kilometer in diameter, but open area, good winds and great freestylists on there.

Addicted - all I can think of is WS. The gf gets pissed off I talk about it 24/7. To get some of the same rush whilst outta the water, i've started mountain biking a bit downhill

I took the same approach and got into the DH mountain biking a couple of years ago. The good thing about downhilling is that you can do it any time - weather independent. But it's still not as good as a decent windsurfing session!

If it were a choice between sex and a sail, I'd probably choose sex, but I'd be prepared to fake an orgasm to get it over quicker to then go sailing.

How can a bloke fake an orgasm?

Here's what you could do: Moan and groan appropriately, then say "Oh my God the condom broke!" --the chick will bolt for the bathroom and you're home free.

Except you'll be sailing with blue b@ll$...

no need to fake it

i commonly refer to what should be done as a splash and dash.

I'm married, so I have effectively already given up sex...but I still have windsurfing
aus301, you are lucky, most of my married friends have given up windsurfing. (and who knows what else!)

Willie, just be careful. That line is most likely to have the opposite effect on some women, especially if you're married to them!

Whoops....a tip for all you addicts. Never check the wind graphs after you return from a day out with the family. I just got back from a weekend at Canberra, and see that I missed a holwer today at Botany Bay.

Now I'm gonna be Mr. Grouch until I get a good session in!!!
