Absolute awesome effort! Well done on being the first to windsurf it al!! can't imagine what that wave would've been like! Let alone a few days before (Sunday) the swell forecast was massive!!

I heard from a very good source that he used a stunt-double for that pick. No names, just initials (JP)!!!

I also heard that pic was photoshopped!

Just kidding - big kahunas right there!

Well they have reallly dropped ......I remember when you would sleep in till 11AM up at Gnaraloo not so long ago, guess you were just dreaming of riding the bigger heavier waves.

Will be certainly an awesome experience to look back on Al, enjoy!

a younger Al earning his stripes, and Troppo teaching him opening/closing gates is all part of surf adventures....

I think Shane WEBKE had a few too many hits to the head if he can't tell the difference between kite surfing and windsurfing.

Guess he was a great soccer player!

Awesome stuff Al!
But I do feel for the poor "windsurfer" that attempted that wave. Apparently he was admitted to hospital wrapped in string!

Haha yeah I heard QLD got it wrong. Everything I saw down here said windsurfing. When was the last time we saw windsurfing getting exposure like that? Pretty happy about it.

Great work Al, must have been a huge effort organising it all. We will be expecting big things from you this year at Dawson St now that you are world famous!! Will we see the double?
