I am a weekend windsurfer down at anglesea ( Great ocean road)
Last your I got new second hand sail via this website ( sail unfortunately too little to justify a new one). However I am having some challenges rigging it rightly. As you can see in the picture the battens don't fully come around the mast- and I have pulled the downhaul hard. Works fine for other sails when I pull it that hard.
So is it the mast and the fact that it won't bend enough? This is the issue I suspect.
Details are:
Sail: Severne Blade 5.0 luff 416 boom 163
Mast: North sail, SDM, 400 cm ICMS 19 bCC
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
It's your mast, I had the same probs rigging a 5.7 blade on a x9 pryde mast. It'll never work.
Options are.... Severne mast, 2nd best is powerex.
P.S. I also pull it hard but it never seems to satisfy like the real thing

I have the same year model blade as that one in a 4.7 and 4.2 and they rig very nice on my 400 north platinum rdm but have a blade 5.3 of a couple of years earlier and it rigs like that one in picture
