A lot of sailing, surfing and kiting is done on the South Coast. Its not really represented very well by Parawa. If Hindmarsh Island was added it would benefit those sailing on the ocean and lakes down there (although weather station must be on a hill because it seems to always read high). If the number of charts is limited then maybe Edinburgh Airport could go - never heard of any one sailing up there(?)
Hi Fellow SA Windsurfers
I e-mailed the Government weather guys a couple of years ago regarding this problems with the weather stations, they gave me a crap reply and didn't really answer my question.
Maybe I should try again.
Hi Slim I agree with you as I am a beginner to windsurfing when I am at goolwa I never know what the wind is going to be like and I do have access to the Internet at my beach house. If that would ever happen It would me I spend a lot less time out in the water when the wind is to strong for me because of where our beach house is it is hard to tell what the wind will be like down at the Aqua cafe so I sometimes go down and spend more time in the water then on the Board.
Cheers Pittsy![]()
Hindmarsh Island observations is on BOM, but tends to read high as the station is on top of the arial on the island at the marina,
Ditch Edinburgh Laurie! :)
While you're at it, if you could just increase the number of green arrows at the weekends it would be appreciated ![]()
Thanks to all those who responded!
Thanks to Laurie - who has the power to change it!
Hopefully, this will benefit all!
Cheers!![]()
IThanks Laurie - I am sure that will be appreciated by many, thanks.
Don't suppose with all that power you wield you could arrange to move Kangaroo Island about 150 kms east of it's current position so we can get some decent swell along the mid coast with this 20knt SSE'r!
