Sorry Herby

This is a short video of Herby sailing his home spot, Tinaroo Dam. Herb's 76 or 77 and a dead set legend in FNQM's GPSTC team, if you've met him on his travels you'll know that anyway There's a lot of creaking going on, not sure if it's knees

Got to meet the legend last week ,top bloke .Sanctuary Point welcomed him with 20 knots then increased to 30 and wore him out.
He is headed north from here and will be stopping at all the known windsurf spots up the coast,if you are fortunate you might run into this delightful man.

Mans a bloody legend. I did like his final word re cameras give him the Tom Tits

Cool clip. I can just about see those meter plus barra I meet Herb on my trip to Noosa last Sept. Very nice bloke, lives for sailing, and friendly with lots of stories of great places he had travelled. Very insperational fella. Sadly I inspired him to come out on Lake Cootharaba in a 25- 30 knot southerly. Choppy as hell, we both go hammed..lol, but great to see a fella his age have a shot when very few were keen to head out. Hat's of to ya mate.

What hat is that? The brim is rock solid at speed. I want one too. Mine is too floppy when the wind picks up.

There are a few 70+ y.o sailors down at Kyeemagh too.
All very good sailors too.
Hopefully it means I've got another 20 years left.
Helps to have a mental age half your chronological age.

I too have had the pleasure of being mixed up with the pleasure of Herby's company although for limited times. Mainly at LG in 2013, left many impressions indented upon myself and all good.

Upon his recent sojourn caught up with him again at Mallacoota, and then had a surprise visit at my own residence in Eden the following night for a couple quiet one's in the man cave!! AWSOME

I think that people like this give us all inspiration!, I hope that I am able in 30 odd years

Gloating's fine, but don't take it for granted. You've got to keep your body intact to do it. It's a fine line between living for the moment, and keeping a bit in reserve for later.

Some people burn themselves out early, others play it very safe and maybe get badly injured in an accident or get a serious illness before having any fun.
I'm not offering any advice as to how you find that line. I guess in my case a lot of luck has been involved.

Dude...that is an incredibly shallow and ageist comment. Good luck making it to that age and to still be sailing like he does. Plenty of young, middle aged and older folks never get to 70+. At least he has made it.

As they say...its not about the years in your life but about the life in your years.

I hope as a young egocentric Y-genner you stay healthy and broaden your perspective on life cause at the end of the day, its all you got.

I wonder how gear will have evolved by the time I am 70.

27 more years.

Jeez, not that long really.

Closer to 70 than birth that's for sure.
