This is the next video of the deck/ rail shaping of a wave Pro 100 ,before the board is ready to bond the hard foam to the deck.

Good stuff.
It seems almost all shaping rooms look the same, all through the year's.
I used to hang out a bit at Randy French's in Santa Cruz, Doug Haut's, Ward Coffey's, and of course, my own at Wise Surfboards.

I've been perplexed how an obviously obnoxious braggart like Trump could progress so far in a Presidential race. It must be an American thing.

I'm perplexed how Aussies are constantly bragging by knocking other's who have done the same thing.
What? You guys never did anything before? Are you afraid to say what you have done in your life?
Or are you guys just the worse of humanity who need to constantly pick apart anyone else not of your group?

Please don't be too perplexed, we all suffer from mono cultural myopia in some way. Not all Americans and Aussies fit the stereotypes though. We do tend to cut down the tall poppies which is not good. Personally, I like it when Americans think big and match it with generosity an hospitality. Unfortunately the rest of the world generally get the views embedded in media, television and Hollywood. This also goes for us Aussies who can be refreshingly frank and liberal with our opinions. Basically, we like to earn our respect and not talk ourselves up so as to be better than others.

I don't know if there is history between you guys Lee?

I thought the post by Nigel was on the nose and john chiming in all seemed very immature in a school boy bullying kind of way. Kind of hypocritical to bring up the ignorant bigotry of trump in a ignorant bigoted swipe at someone else !

It's interesting how someone's pre-conceived perspectives can determine how something is interpreted.

I took Lee's comments to be sharing his experiences in a field he obviously has a passion for.

People who ascribe to stereotyping Americans as brash egotistical knowit-alls that talk only about themeselves might see someone talking themselves up being a brag.

The real reason Trump is keeping up in the polls is because people want change, and they are tired of lies, and no improvements. Hillary has no competition at all. This race is given to her on a silver platter. How easier can it get for her! Hillary has 30 years of political experience and Trump has zero political experience. Do the math, Trump is doing pretty Damn well against a women of that much experience. If we had a well accomplished, respected Republican candidate running instead of Trump, Hillary would be the one drounding in that sink hole. That's the last thing we need is 4 years of Battle-Axe Hilary and First Gentlemen bringing America down and into more national debt. Hillary's best interest has always been for Hillary, her family and her foundation. Very sad situation.

Probably, Leed has been around since the year dot. He's well studied in the art of windsurfing, but a bit too "close to the bone" for some people.

I can still remember a useful tip he put up on rec.windsurfing 25 years ago. The benefits of putting a freeride fin in a slalom board. (Or was it the other way around? Can you refresh my memory Leed? Or maybe it was NLWTFW)

No we should get the thread back on topic. Blame N1gel for the hijack. I'm impressed how someone can sand a compound curve by eye and not have it all over the place. Not too many trades left that require a good eye like that anymore.

Key is knowing where the thickest rail is supposed to be, where the thinner rail is supposed to be, and what kind of bevel at the bottom to meet it, then lifting the blank in both hands and running your hands along the rails towards the nose and then to the tail from around the wide point. You feel the taper as your hands move down the board's rails.
Old basic tenets like thick point equals thick rails is throw out, since around 1975.
Lots of theory and counter theory, you shape by your previous experience, after filtering through talk from dozens of other shapers at trade shows or visits or shape discussions at the beach.
Almost every shaper will actively engage in theory discussions if you demonstrate some knowledge and practical experience.
