hi
how would a Severne NCX 7.0 work [OK] on a Formula 2014 SB FW167?

Now i know its way smaller than normally used, but i am new to FW & I was wondering if it would help with the learning curve.

My thoughts is that it will get it going but not that fast, which is Ok with me! I have a 10m, which I am struggling with. I am a returning old sailor & will use the 7.0 on an old Tiga race.

Port Phillip bay - Sorrento conditions.
thanks Nigel

Yes it will work

I used a 7.8 on a fw board and loved it - you won't get the up and downwind angle but it's easy cruising.

If your returning a 8.5 ish sail will double as a returning and high wind formula sail ( for racing)

thanks for the reply.
Yes, I plan to get a 8.5m after to fill in the gap to 10m. I am rec sailer so ultimate performance isn't the goal [yet!]

I use a 7.5 V6 on an 08 Starboard Formula and I love it as well. A mate uses a 7.0 on a JP formula and has no problems.
We are both recreational sailors, so enjoy.

Same here. I use a Gastra 7.0 on my formula board. Allows me to practice gybing, but best of all I enjoy cruising at 20-25 knots in relative ease and comfort. I do use a shorter fin around 30cm. I do have a video of me doing 22 knots with this combo if your interested.
