have just got a 430 rdm with no branding at all. It is completely silver, top to bottom. It is in near-new condition but has a length of fire hose as a bag with '430 rdm 100%' on it. Also, it weighs 2200g which I though may be on the heavy side. Apart from that, it appears fine. Can anyone give me an idea of what I have please?
cheers

Tnx rwearn. Apart from the weight, it appears ok.
Funny, couldn't find much through Google on the brand... must have come n gone yes ago.
With that BILLOWS name, I have in fact tracked down the factory where it was made, same factory that made Unifiber. Were sold around 2008-2010 from the Newcastle area. Reasonable reviews from those who had them. Constant curve. Just an ugly mast bag, though VERY robust.
... anyone else got info?
its a Billows their ok constant curve
No Billows masts can be any bend curve. You can order then in what ever bend curve you like.
My guess it would be a mast they had left in stock which they sold off cheap and as such could be any bend curve.
Billows RDM masts seem to be pretty well made the lower the carbon content the more durable they will be but this is claiming to be a 100% so it could last a long time or it might not.
Thanks legless. Suppose I will just have to shove it up a sail to see whether it suits or not. Am a bit of a Humber sailor, so am not searching for ultimate performance.
Am a lightweight too so I tend not to stress gear.
Yep ,it's a billows alright ..
i leant one to a friend ,he got catapulted and broke it .mine didnt work well will my north sails .
it set nice but, didn't bend in the right places
Wow what a trip. I owned this mast about 3 years ago. I only know this for sure as I "made" the mast bag out of fire hose to protect it. That is my writing. I bought it from an eBay seller from QLD. I sold it to a guy travelling north to QLD from where I live at Lake Macquarie. It wasn't a good fit for my Huckers so moved it on. What I wrote on the bag is what the seller told me, not sure if it was accurate though.
... and I just bought it just now from a young guy (uni student) in Newcastle. I can hardly find a mark on it... looks like nobody used it.
So... Qld , Lake Macquarie, Qld, Newcastle, Brisbane.
