which camera? gopro hero or gopro max 360

hi
i want to start shooting my foiling sessions and wondering what action camera is better for windfoiling and wingfoiling?
any thoughts?

I love the gopro max as you are always capturing the shot, you the scenary or others. It will also function as a 2D gopro, but I never use it like that.

I agree with thedoor. He has it on a stick on his back, but on a stick on the back of the boom is also good for checking your stance and balance. On the mast at the boom or higher is also good. In 360 you are filming yourself and everyone around. I never use hero mode either.

If you are going for the GoPro non-Max, be sure to get one that has built-in GPS. Max also has GPS. You will want to see your speeds in your videos. I do, anyway. The earliest model that included GPS is, I believe, the GoPro 5 Black. 15 months ago I wrote a review:

its a bummer that the max gps function only works in non 360 filming. Maybe just too much battery drain?

I download the gpx data from my watch and merge the footage which is an extra step
