Hi, I have a Moses aluminum Vento. It looks like I've lost the two washers that are used for the bolt that attaches the tuttle adaptor to the aluminum mast. I can't figure out what size they are. I can measure the OD of the bolt and the ID of the hole in the adapter where the screw/washer goes into, but I can't find any standard washer size that meets that spec. Does anyone know what washer this is?

thanks

Very common problem. I have lost them, too. I found out from Sailworks that you can get the equivalent stainless washers from Belmetric. I bought a hundred of them for just a few bucks. You have to order the 6mm ID, SMALL OD washers.

The other thing I did was change over to #12 split lock washers. You have to split them just a tad to get them to spin onto the threads, but then they stay put. When installed they compress flat like you would expect. They work well. The OD is small enough to fit down into the bolt holes.

Thanks so much, I'll look into that! BTW, I think there is a 5/16 milspec washer that works which is available from Mcmaster-Carr.

Just in case someone comes across this thread, looking for washers for Moses Vento aluminum bolts that hold the mast to the fuselage and the mast to the turtle adaptor. M8, 13 mm OD. There could be some parts/versions that use a smaller screw. I eventually gave up looking for them. The closest I found were some 1mm shims on Aliexpress. I called Sailworks, a Moses retailer. They agreed that they are super hard to get and that they get theirs from Italy. They sold me a few. I also like Segler's lock washer idea.
