Switching to strapless or just experimenting?
It started as an experiment, but really enjoying strapless now - until I try to pick up the board, a carry handle would be nice.

Dan,
I ride strapless and something I want to mess with is using nylon webbing for deck handles. I saw them on Dave Kalama's gear, he often places a long one down the centerline. That's good for a center line indicator and you have a range of grip fore and aft to tweak the balance on different wind angles. If I had your board with all those inserts and no bottom handle I might try them in the front strap position or even across the board, all these spots are at or near the CG of the kit. It would be cheap, easy and harmless to the board to try. I just realized I have a way to do a long strap on my board. Stand by.
On another note, your wave gliding/riding is increasing my interest in high aspect wings! Keep the videos coming, we all appreciate them!
Great vid.. What a nice spot.
How do you like the HA914 foil and what size sail were you using?
Hey DJ
The 914 is very capable for me, combined with C110 mast.
Changing to a 950 fuse was a game changer for me, the glide is incredible.
My light wind wing is the 1240HA but don't use it much as the 914 is a lot more stable at speed & in turns. - it just needs a tiny bit more board speed to lift, which I'm resolving by using slightly bigger sails than before.
That day I rigged 4.0 in about 17-20kn. I could have gone smaller but left those sails at home.
I've had the Hover 131 for sale for a whole year, but was forced to use it again when my Stingray was getting repaired.
Gotta say, I think I'll keep it now just for when I want to ride strapless - which will definitely be more often.
You still making vids mate? Haven't seen any for ages.
I was surprised no one wanted to buy your Micro 131, I have used it now most than any other board in my life, it does all for windfoil: it's wide enough to take a big sail, and short and flat as it is, can handle up to 25 knts gusts without need to fight it. I have used it with sails between 3.4 and 7.0, wings from 650 kite to 1800HA !
With the long fuse (the one for tuttle boxes) I also rode strapless for 10-15 times, then when I was sure where I wanted the front foot, I added inserts, it is a lot quicker for me to just stick the front foot there and then play with the back foot.
My default wing also is the 914HA, then I go to 1400 for very light wind.
