Hello,

After foiling over a year with the wizard 105, I looking to add a Wizard 125 for the lighter wind.
for the moment for light wind I was using my Falcon 184 with S-type 7.8 and 6.6.
On the Wizard 105 the biggest sail I use is a super session 6.0.
I wonder if you have any feed back about these sails on the wizard 125 and how low you are foiling in term of wind speed?
If you have any sail recommendation I am also interested.

For the foil I use the I84, I76, I65, H5, Warp 65 and I am 1,82 for 73-74kg

thank you

I'm much heavier than you at 90kg and I use a 5.8 as my largest sail with the W125 and the i99 in 5-12knots (using pumping etc).

Same board and sail with the i84 in 10-15 knots

biggest sail I've used on the w125 is 7.0 but it feels unbalanced and besides I can pump the 5.8 easier.

Not sure I can help with the biggest sail. As the biggest i used on my wizard 125 was a 5.7m, but you could probably get away with a 7m at least. But I don't think you are going to see massive increase in light wind ability between the wizard 105 to 125. I would say 1-2 knots better only.

I went from the 125 to the 105 and found it nearly the same in terms of getting going in light air.

If you really want to push the light wind envelope I would go with the levitator 150 and add the infinity 99.

Hi Samkyo,

I weigh 185lbs and sometimes would sail the 125 with my 7.3 Naish Sprint from 2010, that is before the pandemic. It works as well as could be expected for a sail that size. I much prefer my Retro 6.5, as there is only maybe a knot of low end difference between the two, but sometimes I really need that knot on light days. The 6.5 feels much lighter in hand and is more fun, but that has more to do with the sails themselves than the board. I will probably sell the 6.5 as I can live with a 5.5-7.3 spread in my quiver. For both big sails I sail them far back in the mast track to help unstick theb when pumping.

Hello,

thank you for your feedback, with the actual sail that I use for foiling I should be fine to ride with the wizard 125.
I could try for fun the S-type 6,6 to see how it go or just keep it for normal windsurfing day.
the purpose to add the 125 is to get some extra length and confort for the sail bigger than 5,0.

the main issue I got with the 105 is for wind below 12kts-14kts. When I use big sail(6,0-5,6) with the short length I have to compensate the nose dive tendency due to sail pressure before the take off. As my pumping is not so good I have a tendency to dive the nose and crash. for super light wind I can use the falcon (230 cm length x 85cm width) but the board feel to power full for the foil this is why I am thinking an in between with the wizard 125 at 200cm

Yeah pumping and uphauling are a little trickier on the 105. Maybe the 125 is a better size for you.
