I have a Bic Techno Foil, with the carbon 85cm mast, removable 88cm fuselage and 700 wing. I believe it was made by AFS.

Any suggestions for upgrade wing and stab ? I find the current wing and stab very noisy (resonate loudly) and I seek more light wind performance on a 85cm foil board or formula board.

Not sure if it fits but if it does, the F1080 (F800) is a nice, lifty freeride wing.

If it was made by AFS there is a good chance that it will be noisy. My AFS-2 sings like a diva, with both 700 and 800 wings. The consensus of thought is that the noise is generated by vortex separation off the trailing edge of the stab. You can work the trailing edge until you are blue in the face and still not get rid of it completely. We even worked the trailing edges of the wings and mast, all to no avail.

I think there is more to it. I think there is a natural resonance frequency set up in the carbon fiber structure itself. Can't do much about that.

My AFS W95 foil is very quiet with all three wings (F1080, F770, S670) BUT I have shimmed the stab. to be at 90 degrees to the mast using a side shim, and then I aligned all the wings to be in the same plane as the stab. using side shims (F1080 wing did not need side shimming), sometimes I hear a very light whistling sound, but that seems to happen with certain boom/sail combinations at certain wind speeds/angles.

Try contacting Foil and company, they still sell the F1080 wing. Sometimes they have an English language website, but most of the time it is in French, Google translate works good.

Since the AFS W95 (even with the same wings and stabs) has a completely different structure from that of the AFS-2, I am not surprised that it is quieter. This gets back to my theory about resonance vibration in the carbon fiber structure.

Some foils are loud, most are quiet. My SS gear in Florida is dead quiet. My LP foil at home is dead quiet. My Moses/SAB gear is very quiet, but I can sometimes induce a light hiss at certain speeds.

None of this is talking about the hiss/tearing sounds that the mast makes at the surface of the water. All foils do this.
