Interesting comment by Ben on WindsurfTV. Or the board person he was interviewing. Tuttle keeps the mast in a fixed position. Track system can slip. The why you still see Deep Tuttle on race boards? Riding an older Horue board. Deep T only. Personally would be happier with the adjustable positioning of track system. Guessing less stress on the board?

Tracks can slip. Yes, and if you don't tighten bolts, foil can mess up board. If you don't zip up your wetsuit, you can get cold when you fall.
Tuttle is lighter weight and more hydrodynamic.
Tracks allow for different weight and style riders, but more important, open up a whole new world of different size and style of foils.

Both are craps.
DTT exists because at first windfoil were intended to extend windsurf board range and windsurf used DTT for fin with heavy load. It sticks just because it worked out not to bad with minor change to the board industry.
Then some surfers started to foil, so shapers used whatever they had in their workshop : us box. they just doubled expecting it to take the load. And it sticked. and sucks. Complex system to fit the mast in a mast head platform craddle that is secured to a reinforced box with too many bolts (many way to mess up the fixing) and heavier.

Yeah, 4 bolts seriously screws up your ability to concentrate while shooting the breeze with the next guy.
Two is twice as nice!

Thats gold D

@OP
Foiling is about balancing all the forces. Lift of the foil, mast foot pressure and front/back foot pressure mostly, so the straps if you use them and the mast track need to be in the optimal spot to be able to foil in light wind and make flying gybes.

The tracks allow you to change your foil position and keep your straps universal in the same place. Mostly this is not necessary once things are set up unless you switch front wings.

If you don't have tracks people shim their stabilizer to adjust where the center of lift of the foil is relative to your universal and foot

Pros of tracks: allows better optimization of center of lift position. Easier to have a full central back strap

Cons of tracks: have to remember where you put your foil mast last time you sailed that foil, bit more time connecting everything but easier than tuttle if you have center back strap. Need to be careful they bolts don't vibrate loose

I have used both track and tuttle and prefer the track

I think for big racing gear tuttle is mandatory

Whatever type you have is ok , just get matched gear then gear set and forget and focus on time on the water, then you will stand out from the crowd no matter what one you prefer or have, one is not better than the other

Done that more than once. Stretchy neo, back dam panel that makes it feel like it's zipped up. Too excited or flapping lip syndrome or both. Also have forgotten to remove the fin cover.
