What's the difference between the first one & last one l know one is the 122 & other is 120 & a tad shorter .

deck pads give a clue. The hover 122 is a dedicated wind(sail) foil board and the one on the right looks to be a crossover
wind/sup foil board- note the fcs/slot box type fin set up to be used as a quad).middle board obviously a dedicated surf foil
sorry but didn't look close enough at the middle board. sail board pad set up with strap plugs and a single fin set up in its bum. must be the standard titan with a foil box.

The one on the left (Hover) is a specific windsurf/foil board only. (you can't windsurf it normally)
The middle one (Titan) is a windsurfing board that you can mount a foil on. (you can also windsurf it normally)
The one on the right (Crossover) is a SUP board that you can both SUP/foil and windsurf/foil. (you can't windsurf it normally)
Note also that the foil mount uses two US fin boxes so maybe mounting two normal fins might give you a twinser type windsurfing set up but until someone tries it we won't know.

The U.S 4 bolt system is far more superior in strengh than the tuttle having said that l hope so.the load pressure on the mast from the foil must put a lot of sideways pressure on the box.

Rocker line probably. it probably has too much tail rocker to mount the foil at the back

Good thinking. And guess what? The best position for mounting a foil is not the same as the best position for mounting a fin. Did we know that all along? One board, a 5.0 , a 6.0 a fin and a foil to cover everything from 10 to 30 knots?
The foils that are placed where the fin is mounted are able to compensate with the rake of the mast and the position of the wing. You could argue that that it the right position as without pragmatic people putting foils into their existing deep Tuttle boards I doubt windfoiling would be taking off so quickly

Good point, would have delayed uptake for sure. But raking the mast forward will add a bit more strain on the mount, and be less directionally stable in flex, like upright vs raked back fins. The box also influences where on the fuselage the mast must be attached. Too much fuselage out the front might give a bit of unstable vertical flex of the front wing? A lot of variables and still a lot of experimenting going on I'd guess. Naish has made the call that it's the right time to ditch the mounting position constraint. Apparently the Naish system is pretty easy to get going. How much of that is due to mast positioning and orientation?
It's a question of concern for those of us thinking of lashing out. Cheapest to go for an old slalom board...but?

Not sure you want to be in 30 knots with a 5.0 and 120L board
but they could do that if they build a board with detachable rails. It is now evident that you can build a hydrofoil kept together by simple bolts. So, why not build a board that has detachable rails? Two 10 cm wide rails and you go from 79 wide to 59. Then yes, 4.0-5.0-6.0 plus one board and 10 to 30 is more than possilble! ![]()

The channel serves two purposes. One it keeps the plate clear of the water flow for touch downs, so you minimize drag and hopefully pop straight back up in the event of a breech or small touchdown (Keeps you foiling with minimal effort). The second is it gets the angle of flight parallel to the water - The board has next to no rocker, and the nose is super aerodynamic to reduce windage, ensuring your flight is level with the water also increases efficiency so you're not aiming for the clouds like many windfoil setups out there and experiencing wind effects on the rocker and underside of your board.
The Hover 122 is a dedicated windfoil board, and is incredibly efficient. There in no tail rocker, and every part of it's design is about "FLIGHT"
A truely amazing board.

Standard Titan shape with some small mods, but very re-enforced to handle the extreme forces of foiling.

The 120 SURF/SUP/Crossover WS is primarily a Surf SUP/SUP Foilboard. Howver it does Wind Foil surprisingly well, and is a great option for a 3 sports in one board. The smaller mast track is because with the setup there is little options really available due to the foil positioning. It is used with the Thrust Surf Foil, the Other two boards are best used with the Thrust WS foil (the dedicated WS Foil), which provides some specific windsurfing performance advantages.
Basically if SUP/Surf is your main aim, then you'd go the Hover 120 Crossover with Thrust Surf (M or L or Malolo). But if your mainly looking to Wind Foil and want the best windfoiling performance and light wind ability, then the Hover 122 with Thrust WS. I think the option of the Titan Crossover is pretty obvious. This will work best with the Thrust WS set at the very back of track but give great performance with the Large SUrf Thrust set at the front of the tracks.

Double US box is superior. Excellent transfer of loads plus the ability to fine tune foil placement for different conditions.

Would the one set of strap positions be ideal for both modes? Otherwise you're going to have to get out the screw driver each time you swap. Could be a hard on the self tapping threads.

I have added 2 US fin boxes to a friends old starboard carve and kept the tuttle box. You need to set boxes in some pvc foam though. The carve had a big v in the bottom which is a pain because the us boxes need to be level.

I have been using the Naish thrust in my RRD slalom board with deep tuttle (has flat tail bottom)... I was thinking of having 2 US fin boxes installed so I can move the foil forward and aft.
On your friends board how far forward from the tail or in relation to the tuttle box did you install the 2 US boxes? do you have any pics and/or measurements please? Thanks
