Yesterday , there was enough wind in PEI. Leftover from Henri, the storm that hit the east coast USA.
Beginner.
Got out my foil board - Shred Sled and Slingshot v3 foil i76 with short -46 cm- mast . Had troubles getting on foil , slammed just when board started planing. Swapped out to my traditional Short board . Came back in and realized ; My entire session with foil board ......I had left the neoprene cover on the rear stabilizer ..... smh .... That couldn't have helped.
I'm surprised that the cover stayed on .
I once carried my board and rigged sail 800m through a park and waded 100m through thigh deep mud to the setoff point only to discover I left my harness in the van
Once got 1/2 way to the beach and realized I had sails, masts, boom, harness, extension etc.......but no board
. Time to turn around! Lucky the beach isn't that far from home & still ended up having a good session.
I thought the neoprene covers were for learning to foil, soft ride and if you kick them no cuts on your shins!
The past 30 yrs....I've experienced some weird stuff;
Went sailing on weird warm day in late Feb. Got to the lake.. it was frozen. 2 bass boats on trailers where in the parking lot as well.![]()
Went sailing as the tide was going out in San Jose (south bay). Ending the session I had to walk 1/2mile in ankle deep mud to the shore.![]()
Went sailing and forgot my uphaul, I learned to water-start that day
Sailed trashed gear at an all-inclusive resort in Turks&Caicos, 4 miles down wind my fin broke on the reef. Luckily my harness and extra rope that I always carry on it, got tied to the board's tail and I Macgyver'd it back.![]()
