Foil is SAB 799 with 399 stabiliser. 92 carbon mast with 899hs fuse

Yes I have the 399 stabiliser withe a 2 degree shim (small chord adapter) for extra lift
I tried taking the shim out and moved the mast forwards 50mm in the tracks. Was ok in flat water but to loose for me in challenging conditions ( swell and gusty)
ok! same setup i tried 1.5 + small chord adaptator and it was a bit too much but very stable. With only the small chord adaptator it is too sensitive and too back footed. 0.5 and 1 degree shim + small chord adaptator is good for me.
It is a bit weird with the double shim
You can see that extra width in the tail over the FS works out very nicely for back foot placement in transitions. Great stuff

What is the difference between a chord adapter and a shim or are they the same thing?
the small chord adaptator is a shim with a special shape that fills the gap between the small chord stabilizer and the fuselage. it is a zero degree shim. So when you want to shim the stab you add a shim on this shim... it is a bit like a ugly sandwich shim

so if you are using small stab eg 370 or 399 I am meant to use this adapter or just optional?
370 is normal chord. but 376, 399, 421 and other kite stabs are small chord. if you use them without the adaptator you will have a small gap between stab and fuse and they will have an angle but i don't know how much! the adaptator have 0 degree so it is the angle cut in the fuse (2.3 degree on the kraken fuse)
