A friend has Mantas and Phantom foils and whilst his foil board was being repaired he used his Manta. He had to move the footstraps forward from their 'fin' position to balance things. IQ foil might need the same (or might not), but it would be a PITA if you swap between foil and fin a lot.
Thanks for that - I'd reckoned on having to move the footstraps forward alright. Good to know someone else has used the board for foiling.
Another option is to find an original 115 fuselage. Won't have quite the same VMG but it'll balance with the straps further back. They are cheap too.
Is there a compatibility issue with deep tuttle foil/fin boxes? The IQ foil mast is flat but I gather there are deep tuttle boxes with a sloping bottom? Tabou doesn't specify what theirs is.

The foil setup he used isnt an IQFoil. He used the 550 front wing and had to move the straps it was reasonably windy.

The IQ Board has a wider OFO than the Manta's total width!
Putting a foil intended for Olympic course racing (up/down wind courses) in a board intended for down wind slalom with a fin?
If it does fit the box, I'm wondering what it will be like to use.
I guess the lack of replies is due to nobody thinking its a good idea and have tried it. But, good luck anyway.

They mark the deep tuttle head with a cutline for the sloped head, so if the tuttle box in the board has a sloped head, you can alter the top of the iq mast to fit.
I decided to stick with my current set-up of the IQ foil paired with a Starboard Foil 147 for the.time being. It works really well. However, I would eventually like the option of a fast free-race/slalom board that would allow me to alternate between foil and fin. Is the IQ foil suitable for use with these kind of boards or are they better suited to freeride/cruising foils?
To answer your last question...
Yes, it will work.
But you have to probably tune in your strap placement, stab angle, mast base position, boom height, and sail tuning for each specific front foil.

What about the IQ youth/junior foilboard? It is designed to use with a fin (almost no reviews of this because no one uses it with a fin). That board is the same as the small starboard course foil and similar to your current board.
