Just landed a new slalom fuselage, the 105+ from starboard
I've paired it to a 225cm2 -2? "Thin" rear wing
and trioed a 550cm2 front wing.

The wing shapes and profiles are very similar, it's like SB engineers just applied an x% magnification to the cad drawing!

I haven't had enough time to really push this limits of the foil setup yet, but initial impression is that the 550 does indeed need more speed to fly. I'd say minimum speed on my 900 is about 10kts, 800 is around 12kts and the 550 does't like going below 15kts.

Control of altitude requires more back foot pressure, at least with the rear wing on a zero shim, so -2 degrees.

The combination makes air-gybes a bit harder, but then it makes 'planning' gybes easier :)

I'm sure I'm lighter, me 75 kg.
The only wing I use is 600 sq cm. My 1220 sits in the garage.
With 600 and 5.2 sail, I need gusts of 13 to fly, but anything below 9 is slog city.

The 650 and 200 thin -2 is a rocket, the profile shape of the new 650 is an improvement on the 550!

Yeah that was what I ordered, but not available for months. Can you measure the max Chord width? Any photos of the profile? Thanks.

Yeah no problem, will try and get some photos up tomorrow for you, gotta say it felt faster than the 550 & 255 -2 on a 95 fuse combo

Re: 650 wing check with surffx, someone i sail with purchased one at the shop at end of last week, he was on it today at the train

Re: 105 fuse this is just what every starboard fan needs another fuse to add to the collection and budget and make to the choice on what to rig on any given day even harder

What can we sell a customer that already has every option we offer,
lets make some more wings and parts

I'm sure these are must have items for the top racer, am just having a bit of a rant here, please don't take offence

Speed is not something that can be easily bought.
The original 800 wing and 115 fuse ( from 3 years ago) can still be setup to crack 30.
New gear is nice but don't start believing that it is always the equipment holding you back.

I can vouch for that, have crack over 30 a handful of times with the 800. Takes a fair bit of pushing it hard to get there but it will do it

Consulta a quien lo haya probado: el 255-2 fino, manteniendo mismo fuselaje 115+ y ala de 1000, es mas rapido que el 255-2 standard? se resiente la salida a volar? gracias
