I'm looking for suggestions on replacing my 2018 Wizard 125 (using i76 & i65). I'm thinking I could use my Starboard race foil with a 95cm fuse and 1100 wing for freeriding and freestyle, but maybe that needs re-thinking. My Wizard only has a medium tuttle box, so I can't use the Starboard foil with that. I'm considering the Slingshot Freestyle 115, but I want to make sure I'm considering all available options. The new Wizards don't have a Tuttle box. I guess I could get an adapter, but the new Wizards are sold out anyway.
This would be for sails 4.0 - 6.0 and I want to be able to still easily uphaul and slog. Right now, I'm quite comfortable jibing on the i76 (a little less so on the i65) and can do downwind 360s but not yet foil out of them. I want something to help me progress with these freestyle-ish moves. I'd also like to get something I feel more comfortable jumping with. My current SS setup feels soo heavy. It reminds me of trying to jump with a course raceboard (they are actually similar in weight). This is another area where my Starboard foil probably won't be much of an improvement.
So, what else should I be considering? Can I use the SB foil for FR/FS or should I bite the bullet and get a Moses/Sab or wait for a Phantasm? Note: I am in the US, and I'd like to stick to options that are available from dealers here and somewhat soon.
Since you have a Starboard race foil already, you could get the Supercruiser wingset and fuse and a Foil X 145. The 145 is dang narrow for its volume so should be very maneuverable.
With two foil sets, one foil mast and one board, you could go blasting w. the race, or take it easy w./ the Supercruiser and do more freestyle moves.
Hello,
last December I changed my wizard 125 for a tabou magic carpet 120 really happy with combo using my infinity wing
The freestyle is a great board. I recently picked up some of the older slingshot ghost whisper medium tuttle. The GW line was replaced by the phantasm line, but it does fit some of the moses fuselages and wings so upgrades are possible if you want something different than the original GW wings.
