Will I have better up-on-foil and less drag, changing stab from 450 to 370? Maneuverability will be better for sure. Simply thinking about how stab can do my riding better. Just started to have long rides on foil recently, still learning. The board is 5'10", F-One.

The 450 Stab is really a little big for the 950 frontwing. It will work, if You depower the stab with a 1 degree shim.

The 425 stabilizer would be a perfect match for the 950 er wing, maybe also the 399. The 370 is too small in my opinion.

I'm using Slingshot gear with SAB wings. I have recently bought the S399 as I felt the Slingshot S400 was providing too much lift and wasn't that dynamic.

The S399 is a lot more slippery and has totally changed the feel of my front wings for the better. Recommended.

I have the S399 to use with the W799 wing, and I have used it with the W950 wing. This stab is so small that you have to run some plus shim to get it to bite. I run +1.5 deg, but some guys here recommend +2.0 deg.

I also have the S450. It is so big and powerful that I run negative shim on it, with the W950.

Sailworks says: "Compared to the 399/400, the 370 is more forgiving."

I wonder what that means. I can sometimes stall the stab while the wing keeps flying. The pitch goes all kaddywhompous and the sound changes. However, it corrects easily with footwork, usually pitching down with the front foot. Maybe that is what "more forgiving" means.

The S399 surface area is 207 cm2. The S370 is 195 cm2. Similar aspect ratios. These are tiny stabs, but I have not noticed that my S399 is any faster than the S450. The S450 never stalls.

just paid attention to the sound I heard... no sound vs 450 where I definitely heard a whistling sound.
in a nutshell - after switching to 370 I've got a very smooth ride, no drag as with 450, smother control but I can't say about the speed, cause it was not windy enough to make a fare comparison.
honestly, I was not sure about the $300 investment .. was thinking I might be throwing money in the wind .. but I can say now that every cent was played successfully!
