Newbie Questions .
Could you use a SUP that has a mast track as I never see formula boards come up cheap anymore.
Purely as a start off or first season board.
Are foils different for windsurfing, SUP , surfing or are they interchangable
Cheers

Cool you want to start foiling! To start of, everything is possible, allthough using a SUP wont allow you to use big sails, for the board width needed increases quite alot per sailsize (think about 6m max). That being said, there are quite a lot of convertible foil SUP's out there, so the concept works! (F-one Papenoo, Starboard Hypernut 4-in-1, JP Slate, etc.)

As for foils, if you have a trackmount foils should be relatively interchangable. Wings are interchangable between disciplines without problems, even with very positive results! The main difference between a windfoil and SUP/Surf foils is that our mast is generally a little longer, which widely increase the ease of use for windfoiling. The second thing is that the fuselages are a little longer, positioning the front wing further in front of the mast for better balance, and extending the stabilizer backward for increaes stability. The latter also goes for the difference between kite and windfoils.

Windfoil specific wings are generally a little more high aspect to allow for faster speed riding windsurfers generally do.

COE of front wing needs to be centered between feet, and it works.
Photos of foilers on SUP boards prove it.

A SUP works, best if it has a deeptuttle for windfoil style foiling AND US-rails for Supfoil style (wind)foiling.
Like my boards. I'm on the third custom board having this concept.
This ones for sale atm, it's No. 2.

Very nice board. The forward slots and the rearward tuttle make SO much sense! What the volume of that board? Would love something like that. Closest I've found is the f-one Pampanoo with the tracks rearward and a set of forward screw holes to mount the front of the mount to.

I was thinking the same - I have Fanatic stubbie - 8'2" 29 wide and 105 litres.

Could i I use that to foil with windsurf ?

could I then use it as a foiling sup or would track be in wrong place

The Volume is 129 Liters, but as it's a custom the guys at Mojo Customs could scale it with their CAD / CNC system to every volume.
The shape of the board is close to the Papenoo 7'11, which is a very refined, clever designed shape for supsurfing AND foiling.
The beveled rails work nicely for both disciplines.

If you are located in Europe we could arrange a deal as it's still for sale.

Here i posted are some pics, what you can do with the board.
