Anyone had a good amount of time and experience on the Phantom Iris R course racing foil set up and can give advice on set up & tuning tips??
95 mast
110 fuse
930 front wing
25 rear wing
I have the Iris R Ultimate bundle (930/730/550/430/350 frontwing; 250/200/175 backwing) with 3 Fuselages (110, 100 Evo, 100 PWA) with the R100 and 95 PWA Mast. I bought it second hand last sommer and had already some sessions with every wing (except the 350) on it.
.
First of all Phantom recommends the R100 mast for the 110 fuse. The 95 pwa Mast is thinner and can not take the load of the long fuselage.
Or do You have the 95 Iris X mast, that should be ok.
For settings. It is all on the Phantom website:
www.phantom-foiling.com/wind-foil-settings
I ride this foil with a 91 wide FMX Hyperion from 2023 and 9,0 or 7,8 sail (Point7 F1SL). With the longer fuse the mastfoot needs to pe placed more to the front (112 cm from the front srew of the foil, instead of 108,5 with the 100 Evo fuse).
The foil has a lot of power so I use shims to depower it. Then it depends on the conditions:
very light wind (6-10 kt) 0,5 shim
light wind 7-13 kts: 1,0 to 1,5 shim
Mastrake: 2 to 3 degrees
The FMX board hast the straps quite far back so when the wind gets stronger You should better use the front holes of the straps to have more control over the lift of the foil. I do not mount footstraps back and forth so I change to a smaller wing, when the wind gets stronger. IQ board for example has the straps more to the front. That would make it possible to use the 930/110 also in higher winds for Up-/downwindfoiling.
For Slalom I also use the 930 frontwing with the 100 EVO fuse an 200 backwing, more userfriendliy when the wind gets stronger.
The 110 fuse only makes sence with big sails and wide boards. What sails and board do You want to use?
