Had it for 2 weeks and enjoyed 10 sessions on it.
This wing for me seems to be the 1 wing solution ![]()
In 10-12 knots just need a gust to get up with 5.2 foil freek. My 899 may get up a touch earlier but the 909 keeps flying in the lulls with a bit more speed.
12-15 knots with 4.8 foil freek is sweet, a few short pumps and I am up. Speed 20 knots plus is awesome considering 1 metre bay swell/chop.
15-20 knots with 4.0 freek I feel I can do as I please!
Control of pitch and speed enables gybes in confused swell to be predictable and deliberate.
20-30 knots with 3.3 freek with up to 2 metre short period swell control comes easily as it can be turned off easily or charge down swell at will with tips out on upwind and downwind carves ![]()
Will keep my 899 for just in case, sell the WO940 and keep my MP769 for longer period swell 25+ conditions.
Stab 395 with +2 shim regardless of conditions has been on the money!

Sounds like a great all arounder. I've been loving the 769. I bought a 3.0 fringe thats never been out of the bag until last week. After a month of no wind we finally had a norther gusting over 34 knots late in the day. Took about 20ish knots to get flying, but what a blast. I'm nomaly in survival mode with my 3.7 in those conditions. Ripping around in huge waves at 20+ knots while being in control was an absolute blast.
Interesting, been mulling a 909 to complement the 769. Currently use older 799 in lighter airs as good with a 5.2 FF, and the 769 when it's 4.4m FF weather but maybe the 909 would replace the 799 and give a good overlap? ![]()

Do it, you won't regret it.
Only used my 909 once so far .I've had the 999 and 799 for a year and 909 definitely has more glide than both but not sure it will replace the 999. I use s1's on wizard 114 and weigh 85kg. Are the foil freeks faster ?

Over the years I went from S2Maui Dragon-Goya banzai-fringe-cypher and now just got 4.4 foil freek, each time notisable improvement in comfortable, performance and wind range. So, over 4m2 I would recommend foil freek, under (foil freek only goes down to 4) cypher is great.

Have had limited experience on S1's but foil freeks have a better bottom end and are more stable powered up. I guess being more comfortable brings better speed ![]()
The Foil Freeks are lovely to use, pretty much just 4.4 and 5.2 only rigs for me now. Tight leech and v light...power on and off instantly, their low end is amazing, belies their size. An S1 likely somewhat stronger / heavier / more robust construction?
