Sorry for the noob question, but I rigged my (brand new) foil to the board on the beach, flipped it upside down bottom up with with the foil in the air, than went to my van to get my rigged sail and found my board flipped 180 degrees with the nose down and the front wing on the stone beach!!
The board must have been flipped over by the wind? (about 10-15 knots)

Luckily I did not see any marks on the front wing and the stab, just some very small scuffs.
So what is the best way to leave a board without and/or with a sail attached to it, on a stone beach?

Will the foil stay up when the sail is attached maybe? Like in image A Head to the wind?
On rocky / stone beaches I guess B is not an option, at least not without front wing protection.

A. Bottom up, foil up

B. Deck up, resting on front wing

On its side with the tail into the wind, same position you attach the sail in.

Agree with Grantmac, board on its side with wing tip resting on ground, and if there are guts over 12-14 knots best to not leave board attached to sail. I also have a cheap vinyl dry bag filled with 10 pounds of sand that I put on the sail at the mast base to keep wind from picking it up.

All the kite foilers put there boards as in the second picture, but I do not like that because the board bottom could get damaged. I put tape on my rails so when it is on the side it has some protection, but I am on sand.

The foil is bottom heavy, so if you invert it and the wind hits the mast it will fall over as you know.

I saw this video from Nico Prien: IS FOIL RACING IN 30+ KNOTS POSSIBLE? | Professional Windsurfing Documentary | Ep. 7

In side shore winds, they all seem to leave their boards unattended, bottom and foil up with the sails attached, like you do without a foil.

Read my post on repairing the AFS foil, I left it like in those pictures, an on-shore gust flipped the foil mast over and that lifted the sail enough for the gust to get under it, wind picked up whole kit and threw it 30 feet down the beach, wing hit hard packed sand and partially pulled out the three screw inserts in the fuselage, see pic below.

With the way they have their boards in a side-shore wind, wind will push foil mast towards the sail, but because board is attached to sail foil gets blocked by board from going over.

Second picture, red board by beach, that is similar to how I had my kit, except my board was laying flatter with the front foot pads straddling the mast. Looks like some of those boards may be disconnected from the mast, because they are lying so flat. But the red board in the middle left is not because it is still attached to the mast.

It also depends on the wind strength and direction. If you leave the gear in a area with trees, vehicles, buildings, there is more chance the wind will be shifting all over the place and the board will move around.

Rocky shore,
Think I would lay it on it's side, throw my life jacket between the foil and the rocks during rigging.

Oh yeah WillyWind, my board and rig were on a 30' wide beach with water on one side and tall trees all along the other side.

Race width boards with small foils in steady wind.

Here is a pic of how I now keep my kit, note sand bag on sail clew.

If the wind is coming directly onshore you should place the board and mast side on to the wind with board deck facing down. The way you have it in the photo both board and rig will take off easily.

Wind Sideshore from the right?

Dunno but I would not leave the board on the side, looks too much surface to me.
I will lay it bottoms up with the sail attached to leeward, just like normally..
I mean of those guys leave them boards like that in 30+ winds, I will copy.

I was just surprised my board flipped over but than again it did not have the sail attached.

@WsurfAustin Good tip about using life/impact vest.

Well the other side of my 30' wide beach is lined with tall wide trees which like WillyWind said can cause erratic gusts, when I left my board like those guys a wind gust from a different direction pushed the foil mast over turning the board and allowed the wind to lift the whole kit into the air and throw it 30' down the beach damaging the foil. The way I have it now the wind has not been able to move it, too hard to push the board over from any direction.
