I try to keep the board from touching and the wing from foiling out of the water. :) I like to keep it about mid mast.
I don't ever touch, but lets say somewhere between 1/3th and 1/2 of the mast out of the water, but going just deadstraight between the chops, so I have pics of being +/- 80cm above the water at times.
i fly a little higher in the downwind than the upwind too. And the more overpowered I am the higher I fly, to be able to bank the board, and it does that kind of out of its own.

Whats the longest production mast length?
110cm? I'm guessing based on no real research skills, nor did I google it. :)
I did just get the 110cm mast from starboard, yikes that's tall.

I think 110cm indeed ;), although custom you can get anything. Have to say, longer isnt necessarily better (and definately not better because the pros use it)
the length of your mast and the impact it has on the setup is very dependent of board width. If 110 (max PWA length) was best then all brands would make 110 masts for 2019, but most are in the 100-105 range for race.

Yes, our government is telling us to do drugs(sold from us) and stay home
. Don't bother windsurfing or doing anything to stimulate your mind....so come on over!
It's dynamic and sort of automatic. Your legs suck up as you go over waves and push down as you go through troughs.
When doing gybes, especially slow under powered ones, it's best to stay as high as you can so you can "coast down the hill" on the exit.
