Hi I would love to hear from someone who has tried foiling their superlightwind:
Was it any good compared to a foil specific board?
Did it get you going faster to the foiling than say a smaller board?
Was it too big once you were up and foiling?
Would it be suitable for a beginner foiler?
Starboard Ultrasonic 147 is similar and now foil compatible so it should be ok. Are the new JP SLWs sold with a foil box? Check out the specs on JP site. Guys foil on formula boards which are wider so again its certainly doable. I will foil on my US sometime soon
Everything looks legit to foil on this board. The 2018's have a foil ready reinforced box. Looks similar to that of the Starboard Foil 147. The only thing I can't see is the upward nose curve. When beginning the foiling flights, you'll pitch forward from time to time, the key is to make sure there's enough curve to keep you from pitching over forward. My Foil 147 prevents all of that. My 'crash landings' end up with me still on the board, holding onto the boom, still sailing. If you can get a side view of both, compare. Otherwise go for it!
