Nice work thedoor !!. Looks like it was crankin' out there. Huge waves. Guessing 30ish knots ?. Was Greg on a 3.0 ?. sail looks tiny. Thanks for getting all that footage and posting !!.

It was cranking. Outside I felt like I was inside of half-pipes. I didn't make the video even though I made one jibe. :D

Greg was using Goya Cyphers. He had 4 rigged at all times, 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 & 3.8. So he very well could have been on 3.1 that day or maybe even 2.8. He rigged smaller than any of us - which was another lesson to me. He was on the Wizard 90 board and G800 foil, 125 mast.

Prob closer to 25 knots at most. They were certainly some of the biggest swells I have been in. I have sailed steeper swell, but nothing that big except maybe that one day in the gorge when I sailed towards the hatchery.

The saddest part was that I didn't get any footage of gwarn. The day we sailed together was the day I didn't have my GoPro

Thanks for posting - stoked to see other windfoilers in swell

The ride at 3:37 is awesome.

Looks like I need smaller sails. I have a mental block over owning something smaller than a 3.7.

I had similar "blocks", but being overpowered on my 3.7 in >26 knots, I'm going smaller.

I have just worn out the 3.7 that KDog passed on to me and I have had many a session where I wished for smaller. Guess I need a 340 mast and a sail and... I never used anything in the 4-meter range before foiling!

Amazing video!!! Last day I sail with Banzai 3.15, and is very fun to sail with this small sails! With windsurf people sail with 4.2 sail.

Gusts are about 30 knots, sometimes survival mode

I think a good sail wind range for freeride (with an ocean swell focus, sailing powered-up) is, in knots;
10-14 5.9m
12-16 5m
14-20 4.5m
18-25 4m
23-30 3.4m
28-35 2.8m

It is very cool. its kind of on off wind though. I was there for 6 sailable days and we had 4 epic days, one good day, and one barely foilable. After I left my mate had 3-4 days of unfoilable wind. Super affordable once you get there.

We don't get an honest 25+ here often so my 4.0 suits well at the bottom for now and there is a 3.7 somewhere in the garage. But because of all you s*heads, I did spend most of the afternoon scouring my continent for a smaller sail. Worse, I may have found one.

Nice video.
That was a good week of sailing.
Check two items off your bucket list.
See you back on the bay in the springtime.

You had the opportunity to sail with one of the Wizards of windfoiling.(Greg) you have to admit the 360s on the swell face we're impressive in person.
Also down here at the kiddie pool they call Baja.( Windfoiling Paradise)
I hope you guys understand the reason why I like to come down here now I'll trade Treasure Island in any day of the week for what I get down here.
For me you can't beat a dollar for a 16 oz Heineken.
I love Mexico
