After a day of driving in gale force winds we arrived at Taupo to a windy lake. As a keen windsurfer who hadn't sailed for 10 days since landing in NZ the first thing I did was google a water sports hiring centre. The info about sailing here said only 25 sailors in the area and now one was out on the water. Hosting 18-35knts. To my amazement when I arrived i found an awesome cafe/water sports hire centre. The website doesn't do it any justice.
The owner hired me his own personal gear that was brand new Naish kit and rigged up two sails for me. To my amazement after talking about my foiling experience he also lent me his own foil board that was sitting out the front.
I had a great session on the water with the backdrop of mountains. Needed the sail change as the wind did drop. A true highlight. Fresh water and amazing views.
A must visit for anyone who has water running through their veins who comes to this area.
They will I'll be updating their website but drop in or call them.
They have a bar over the water too which is great for a post sail ale.

They also have other Naish kit that isn't foil gear between 90-130+ Lt.
sorry not great photos.
thumbs up.
