There is growing interest in using foils to race slalom, especially in the 8-12 knot range, and potentially above but the advantage over fins seems to diminish rapidly...
I found some of the recent training videos interesting and this one in particular has some relevant details for one of the main concerns... is it any more dangerous!???

People often ask if Foil Slalom is dangerous? if we fall and if we hit each other? The answer to all of the above is yes - but I would say it is about at the same level as normal slalom - where we do all of that too.
In this video you can find some good battles, some falls and some crashes but at the end of the day everyone survived and continued training the next day.

We are all training and racing professionally and we fully understand the risks when we go onto the race course here in Tenerife for training or elsewhere for real racing - I ain't your mama but I wouldn't suggest for everyone to try it at home ;)
