At Sherman Island 200 yards windward of the beach my stab got caught in an adrift fishing net which spoiled a good jibe. After untangling and sailing on I went back and saw a rope attached to a small float and realized I couldn't leave it there just to get caught again.so I went back with a Leatherman tool but couldn't cut through a1/2 " rope and got a bit tangled in a monofilament net..I did get free of the net with the knife and stabbed the float hoping it would all sink and I think it did .In this day of adrift fishing gear I,m not sure what to do different next time, maybe a sharper knife, what do you think?
Hi Greenfan
I would suggest this Crocodile Dundee Bowie Knife below, for your next outing.
Your Leatherman is no match vs this Aussi one.
No worries to cut through 1/2 inch rope and stab that float in one single move,,

:)
I remember someone getting their ankle intrapped in a tangle of fishing line off the sign launch long ago , he was cut loose by a rescuer with some sort of knife.I,ve carried a kite knife from time to time without using it, maybe a compact jack knife will come next.
If you are in the Gorge & cut loose a native net, you will face a fine & maybe a pissed off native with a shotgun...
