Sander was my first thought too.
Here are a couple other options that may work but they stink![]()
Heat gun and scraper/putty knife?
Acetone and scraper/putty knife?
Whatcha putting back on?
Goo Gone is another product you can use less harsh than acetone but is still lots of work with a putty knife.sander with a soft foam pad will work but your still going to take off paint.
Try mineral spirits first: Soak a cloth in the stuff and lay it on a section overnight. The adhesive may loosen enough that you can just scrape it off with a plastic putty knife. Works well on the adhesive they use for booms and may on this also. The cleanup is pretty easy - alcohol or just a little acetone cuts the mineral spirits.
