Last video from me for a while.
Overcooked a gybe a couple of weeks ago - knee ligament surgery and rehab coming up, hope to come back stronger next summer.
Huge thanks to the awesome supportive foiling community

Riders - Jesper, JJ, Simon & Tim.
Thanks as always to Thomas for the super drone vids.

Sorry to hear about your knee. Are we talking 6-9 months or 6-12 weeks of rehab?

Great footage and great editing as per usual.
it's not a coincidence that all the best free- foiling footage is on the smoothest foiling equipment in the market.
Sorry to hear of the injury JJ, it's always sucks losing TOW due to injuries

Heal up good, hope it's sooner rather than later.

Thanks

6-12 months off the foil
Surgery went well yesterday - massive thanks to Jonah
The plan is to turbo rehab - improve my crappy balance and increase my strength so it's similar to Simon's

Hopefully I'll be downwinding swells (what I love most) in 3 months - in a surfski

that sucks. Do you think the foil contributed to the injury, or was it something that can happen to anybody windsurfing?

I recently had to spend a couple months off because of a medical rehab. Obviously, not fun. I'm not saying this to make you feel worse than you probably already are but that we are all hoping that the time goes by quickly and, as so many have said, we're thinking of you and wishing you the best.

fwiw, I probably was allowed on the water sooner than I should have because my doc could see the look in my eyes. I didn't push it hard when I did get back on. Like you, my guy did a good job and I wasn't going to unwind it.

I can feel with you azymuth, i also had a knee injury some years ago. Crashed in a wave at 40knots. Teared both cruciate and inner side ligaments and broke meniscus. It took two surgeries. Felt very bad after them. Two doctors told me that i newer ever could do sport, no way to windsurf ewer more. That was a great shock! But it depends on you to recover and get strong again. With a brace windsurfing was possible after a half year. Then i windsurfed more than ever. Only jumping my knee no longer likes.
Wish you a fast recovery!

Azymuth, great to hear you are on the mend. I am sure you will be back having fun foiling next summer.

Thought I would let you know that I have started to enjoy the high wind side of foiling. This trip to Maui I actually foiled more times than windsurfed. Previously I foiled more as a low wind option. However this trip I went out in high winds when it was off shore, too gusty and mogully to have fun windsurfing.

I ended up having a blast in 3.0 to 3.5 conditions on my Moses 683 just ripping around and riding swells both inside and out side of the reef. Your comments about having a blast in high wind conditions opened my eyes to the potential.

Get well soon

Stoked you discovered how much fun high wind foiling is.
Waves are nice but if there's no ground swell, 20 knot+ wind forms epic rideable bumps everywhere

Great vid and sorry to hear about your knee, you've got some amazing footage! Quick question, it looks like someone in the vid altered their 125/105 Wizard with center backstraps. Any idea on how they did it?

Someone needs to archive her website, before it goes away. she makes everything seem so simple.

I met Eva (boardlady) in person in the 90's. I took her a board I thought was leaking, and she attached her vacuum pump to the vent and proceeded to show me that as pressure was holding there was no leaks. Her parting words were "go play"

It is essentially an archive. After she retired, she had someone host the site so it could stay up for quite some time in the future. I've only had a brief correspondence with her via email but, by all accounts, including my own experience, she is very gracious.
