I have a SS i76 and love it, but ideally would like a lighter carbon version with a 90cm mast and track mount
Moses/Sabfoil do the W790 that looks very similar, but then you have to buy a tuttle-track adaptor. They are also releasing a 92cm track-mount mast, but it doesn't seem compatible?
Are there any others out there that have similar characteristics (carvy, 1500cm2, low stall speed etc) but in carbon?

I have no idea how good they are for windfoiling, but Armstrong foils are preposterously light, so 1550 V1?

Hey Brit. If you wait couple of weeks the slingshot phantasm carbon foil will be launched.
we all love the i76 wing so the new phantasm will have different length carbon mats and a newer "'more polished" wing version of the i76.
so imagine your current set up but much more lighter, stiffer mast and your fav size front wing in one package ![]()
![]()
also with the phantasm no need to swap fuselage and add shims like the Moses!
Sounds great!
Are there any details yet? I wouldn't want a mast longer than 90cm due to some of the beaches I sail at, will that be an option?

I am not sure if not having the possibility of shimming the stab is that good. It is convenient but the stab it is just suck in one position. If you need more lift or less, you are stuck. You can always add washers but it's not ideal.
If you have a foil with shims and don't want to deal with them you can just leave one in it but I think it is good to have them available.
Sounds great!

I think that is the long term goal. They do have shorter kite masts that should be compatible with the windsurf fuselage...but not sure.
There is a very old flyer on this post on supzone

Brit, yes the masts will be longer than 90cm (dealers cannot disclose details until May 4th so hang tight).
Willy - shims add drag, with the SS hover glide you never needed shims either. With the cost of a carbon foil I believe the wing dynamics should be figured out for you ![]()

Hey we are all friends here. We won't tell honest.
I think brit is wants to keep his mast 90cm, not longer
I see that from an old document the windsurf masts will be 102 minimum.
That's a bit long for my liking, purely because some beaches I sail at have quite a shallow gradient, and it puts the foil dangerously close to the bottom when waveriding smaller waves (even worse if spending a lot of money on a carbon one).
If they have a 90cm one I'd be in there instantly! (I don't want much shorter either, 90 is a great compromise for me).

Ignore the old phantasm PDF.
there will be multiple mast length options enough to cater for shallow water locations, surf, voodoo chop and deep water.
@thedoor it's a nail biter! but it's well worth the wait, all that sparkley new carbon and charged credit cards
as my grandfather said, might as well spend it, you can't take it with you when you die, lol.

The Phantasm windfoil comes with the PFI 730 wing, it's a polished and more refined I76. If you don't want the long mast you will be able to pick and mix the bits you want in the very near future.

F4 Freeride Carbon. I have one coming off an i76/alum SS last season. Wing v similar to i76, but mast is waaaaay stiff. Much more response, stability, less breaching. Love it.
At the 4:53 mark of the video below you get a look at the new Phantasm i76 (the 730 is a scaled down and refined i76). There is also a discussion at the 5:30 mark about why the new foil (730) works so well with small sails. I think the longest mast on offer will be around 100 cm. I wish SS also offered a 125 cm mast. I think there will be other other scaled down and refined SS foil wings coming.

Armstrong has a newer model of HS1550 (V2) with following measures: Wing Area : 1550 cm2; Wingspan: 938 mm; Weight 1125g. : total weight would be ~3160 kg if you use 80 cm fuselage, 85 cm mast. The V2 version of HS1550 is higher aspect than the previous version and apparently with thinner body. The new tail wing also became smaller. The titanium screws has no corrosion problem and the weight is incredible lighter (~50%) compared to the Slingshot.
I want something that turns tightly on a wave, but with a low stall speed for X-on/slow waves.
I reckon the Armstrong at 94cm wide won't turn as well. The V1 looks a better shape for that.
The F4 looks interesting, but I can't see the dimensions?

you definitely don't want to add more drag to the SS Hover Glide system lol
shims can be good for different riding styles and/or matching foils w/ different boards/riders. If designed well, shims shouldn't add any meaningful drag esp compared to everything else in the system.
New SS Phantasm lineup looks interesting. The release was pushed back again, and I now realize as a dealer I have been waiting for these things for more than a year now. Even when released and available, I have no idea how much of this stuff they're going to have available to sell.
One way to go is Moses 790 w/ the Project Cedrus carbon mast. Only caveat is that PC does not have an adaptor yet for the windsurf fuselage (only the surf/kite fuselage). If I order enough adaptors, Kyle at PC will design and make the adaptor. PC does make a Slingshot windsurf adaptor, so you could use the mast with your existing Hover Glide fuselage and wing sets.
Also, has anybody here tried wind foiling w/ the Moses 710 surf fuselage?

I was hoping that everyone had switched to Moses so it leaves plenty of Phantasm on the shelf
As you well know, the whole COVID/Shipping/stimulus check fiasco has been like the perfect storm for a lot of product, maybe when we get through this surge things will settle down.

Have you tried apollo 60 hoverglide wing? It's a kite wing but I love it very much as long as there are not big holes, then I go back to the 76

No problem at all the PFI 730 Phantasm wing is exactly that, refined, slimmed down. You can buy it in a package with the 103 carbon mast 872 fuse and 400 stab.
Or as a lower package ( wing, fuse, stab) them chose your mast system.
Lighter weight aluminium wide body in 103w or the 87w with light weight base plate for track.
Or use the existing 90cm made and base plate, either regular or light weight. Purchase the Hover Glide mast adaptor plus your lower package and away you go.
Dealers are getting hype sheets this Monday the 19th. So hit up your dealer to check them out.
And yes I'm affiliated with Slingshot.

There is a bit of detail here on this German site: www.surfshop-andreas.de/Slingshot-Phantasm-Windsurf-730-Foil-103cm-Mast-Set-2021-Carbon-Foil
"The PFI 730 wing is a polished, refined and scaled-down version of our most popular wing to date, the Infinity
76.Better pumping, better jumping, higher top speed and shorter curve carving, while maintaining the shaped downforce in the wing wingtips that prevent you from engaging are overwhelmed at high speed.
The new PFI 730 front wing, in combination with the efficiency of carbon, offers a huge wind and speed range with unlimited carving and jumping potential ."
Interesting that it is encouraging jumping. I'm always a bit reluctant to jump my i76 for fear of breaking it, and save that for my i65.
It's a lot of money, but very tempting!
