Loving my PFI 730 and PTM 926 for wind foiling and winging with the 400 rear stab.

I was wondering if anyone had tried the 325 rear stabiliser with these wings. Surely it'd work well to reduce lift and increase speed - great for harder carving, swell riding and higher wind (in theory). Increase the range and ability of these excellent Phantasm front wings.

Has anyone tried one out?

I tried the 325 stabiliser with my 730, Windfoiling on Wizard 114.
I was hoping for a more responsive "looser" feel but I found it made everything "unstable" in a way I wouldn't have imagined. I found the balance less responsive.
I also tried a custom stabiliser similar to a KD and the effect was similar
I have seen people comment that it works for winging and there's no question wingers seem to be able to swap stabilisers to great effect.
If you get to try one I'd be intrigued to hear your feedback

I've seen your skills in the videos on here. If you can't make it work I've got no chance.

Hey Simon, I saw your post and it got me thinking, although my experience is with SAB. I thought I would try different stabilizers with different front wings to see if they made a difference - the answer is a big yes.
I tried my 790 (1500cm low aspect and thicker profile) with a 483 (higher aspect thinner profile) stabilizer rather than the 450 (actually more surface area, lower aspect with turned up tips and a thicker profile). It went from very forgiving rock solid to unstable like being on ball bearings. Sounds similar to your experience.

I have also ridden the 483 with "faster" foils (both higher aspect and smaller) and it is stable but nice and loose on a swell.

So I am thinking the lower speed of the 790 front wing did not allow the 483 to develop proper "lift" and hence did not operate properly. So I am going to follow the manufactures advice from now on when it comes to pairing up stabilizers.
