Hi , I'd like to use my Moses Windfoil carbon tuttle mast on my Slingshot Wizard , Moses is deep tuttle and Wizard is Chinook so I'd have to cut the Moses Deep tuttle to fit the Wizard tuttle box or build an adapter so before doing anything I'd like to know if anyone had the same issue and how did he fix the problem ? Thanks.

I cut about 4mm off my Lokefoil LK1 to fit into the Wizard boards. It was quite easy and now it fits fine.

Thanks Simonp , this would be the more solid and cheapest way so far . From Gunnar Biniash Vlog , he said that Tuttle and Chinook tuttle fit into a deep tuttle box but not the opposite . So at the end of the day cutting my new Moses would not be a bad thing since I could use it on any tuttle boxes afterward .

I wouldnt cut it any smaller than it has to be, there's a reason we use deeptuttle instead of tuttle for bigger fins and foils.

Thanks I understand , it looks like 4 mm would be enough for mine also .

Maybe try to return it, trade it in for one with the medium tuttle?

I also need to be able to put a plate adapter for my other board equipped with a track and the 101 and 111 could not be used for this .
. Thanks CAN17 , it looks like I'll have to sand it down until it fits . This should be an easy task .

I had a deep tuttle mast and a medium tuttle board...So I built a shim in CAD and my son made it for me on his 3D printer. Fits perfect.

allesad , This is probably the only way to do it , I got ready to cut mine today but found out I had to cut all the way to the brass bushing , following your idea I could shim using marine tex epoxy and sand it downuntil it fits good in the box . Thanks for your tip .

The Moses 101 and 111 are the same as the SS ghost whisper 101 and 111.
Big Winds.com has the SS ghost whisper for sale on their web store.
Sailworks.com has both Moses 101 and 111 for sale on their web store and will sell parts individually or a custom combo of wings and mast.

Also mackiteboarding, com has a lot of moses stuff and custom parts for Moses foils

Thanks a lot Gwarn for multiples informations , I ended up shimming the mast and it looks ok , this way all I will have to do to get back to the deep tuttle will be to sand the shim down . I am not in the market to buy another mast since I just bought this one along with multiples front wings .

Sorry but I'm a little confused here as to fitting a tall tuttle head mast into a medium tuttle box with a shim?
Please correct me if I'm wrong at least from my own experience you need to either cut the mast head down or change out the fin box.
I'm just attempting to understand as I had this same problem.

Thanks

The deep tuttle mast tapers at the same angle than the Chinook/medium mast ect , but since it is 4 mm longer the top is not as wide back and forth , so there is a 2mm gap in between the back of the mast to the box , the front of the mast to the box is almost tight . So I shimmed the back and front with marinetex epoxy and adjust it until there was no movement and the mast seems to have a good fit . I hope I am not wrong but this seems to be as good as a true chinook fit ?

To be honest I never even thought about shimming the sides.

Thanks for the insight

Slim Me! Fill the gap on the Deep-to-Med Tuttle plus the flange adds some support to the old slalom board box/

wouldn't the beak on the moses/GW masts be a problem? or i suppose you could build that up too. 3D printing a part would probably be easiest if you had a robust material to work with

What gap do you leave between the top of the tuttle mast and the box ?

Your tuttle box must be a regular tuttle not a chinook .

Ya, there is a small gap (~1/2") between the mas top and the box.
2 seasons of foiling and no issues.

Gwarn , does the Slingshot GW fits in the Moses windfoil 900 fuselage ?
I'll be looking for one of these mast and if I can't find a Moses I'll check for a SS FW mast . Thanks !

It appears they only sell these masts as kits . Moses and slingshot don't have them anymore . So now I'm thinking to switch my Wizard 150 to a Levitator 150 which has a track system , this would be the cheapest way , plus the track system allows me to adjust the mast and the board is 1 inch narrower and 2 inches shorter and at a good price .
So no more headache with the deep tuttle or not .
