I'm thinking about getting us tracks added to my 2019, 105L Slingshot Wizard. Wondering if anyone has done this and was it worth it?
The tracks and reinforcements will add noticable weight. If you are adding an adaptor to a tuttle mast those things are heavy. I would not do it unless I had a VERY good reason.
^^ Yes but it is 1kg, right above the mast. Same as if you did or did not have lunch before a foil session.
But you will gain 10" or so of adjustability.

I had it done it on a 2019 Wizard 103L and it added about 700g of weight. May not be worth doing if you are happy with your current foil setup. I did it because I moved to a plate only foil mast. The track adjustments are much better than mucking about with foot strap positions.
Check the spacing between the tuttle box and the cut aways. I also had a 2020 Wizard 125L at the same time and it didn't seem to have enough space to add the foil tracks without altering the cut aways.

Not adding adapter to Tuttle mast. So no increased weight. Will just have plate foil mount on mast then mount to tracks on board. This might actually be lighter than having Tuttle mount on mast and then Tuttle mount to board. Haven't measured weight difference yet but I think plate might be lighter.

Yeah right. Thanks.

The extra weight from the tracks comes from the reinforcements you need to add. I've modified several boards with foil-ready tuttle boxes and tracks. Changing power boxes to foil tuttle boxes increased the weight just a bit; adding tracks increased the weight very noticeably. But I don't think the weight matters once you're on the water. I'm quite happy with my "tough skin" (read: extra heavy) Stingray 140, and have seen a friend do very well learning on a very old "free formula" board that I could barely carry.
Definitely, as done right it will be stronger
Friend is making noises about me helping him do this. Is the current state of the art to bog/glass the new box in or use PU glue before covering everything?
