Maybe Thomas Hofmann can answer; what drone works well in 15-35kt winds?
From what I find with my mates drone is it does not fly well in winds over 15kts and gets hard to land
Really enjoy the drone footage as it also captures the beautiful scenery of the ocean side.

DJI Phantom 3 up to 30 knts
DJI Phantom 4 up to 35 knts
DJI Mavic 2 Pro up to 35 knts
DJI Inspire 2 should fly easily in 35knts+

These are "comfortable wind speeds". I have flown the Mavic 2 Pro in 40+ knot gusts but you need take some precautions and keep an eye on drift, voltage and motor warnings.

Don't know what drone you mate has but you need to be able to do assisted landing... ie hover the drone about 2m (7 feet) off the ground then grab it mid air and turn off the props. In strong winds you also need to launch the drone that way. This is obviously not possible with a bigger drone such as the DJI Inspire.

Most important thing when flying in anything over 25 knts is a flight plan which needs to include:
- where to land if the drone starts drifting
- launching from a down wind location
- take off / landing spot that's away from people
- know how to overwrite any auto drone features (eg automatic landing function, return to home function...)

Other things to consider:
- all obstacle avoidance needs to be turned off
- batteries need to be fully charged
- watch for altitude drift in strong winds (ie drone can't drift up or down by at least
- the Phantom 3 and 4 have free spinning motors when the drone has no power. Be careful in strong wind as the props will spin up fast enough to give you some serious cuts... I am speaking from experience.

How many days a week or month do you guys get to ride in the winter time?

I have recorded 11 times each for June and July
and 14 for May 21 days for April.
there might be a couple of days I forgot to start the watch though.

Put it this way... sometimes it's a bit hard to get any work done. From Mid Feb to the end of March I foiled almost every day. Since then I'd say we average about 3 to 4 days a week.
