What can I expect from the 115 vs 95 fuse. 85 wide board. Sails up to 8.0. 900 front wing 250 rear.

The 115+ and 95+ or the older black ones? I think the plusses moved the front wing forward.

On the IQ setup (900 front, 95 width, 9.0), the 95+ feels very agile and turny in comparison to the 115+. It's a deal touchier. You cannot go as high upwind or downwind with the 95+, which is mostly a problem if you're overpowered and then can't go deeper to depower.

The 115+ lifts earlier with less wind. This is more apparent when using a smaller wing like the 650.

If I'm a bit overpowered (didn't bring a smaller sail or got hit by better wind while I'm on the water), I much prefer to 115+ to deal with the overpower as I said. Although, this also means that I rarely go on a beam reach on the 115+ unless the wind is light, as the lift is so far forward it's hard to keep the nose down. I'm learning more to heel the board and use the airflow over the nose to help push the nose down, but it's still sketchy on a reach if there's good wind.

When I got caught out with the 95+ and 9.0 when is started gusting to almost 20kts I personally had a hard time dealing with the sail control because I couldn't de-power, and switched fuses after several reaches with significantly lower boom. Others may have a different experience. I think I still have a lot to learn there. Lowering the boom helps a lot in that case but even with it way down the sail felt too much.

With the 115+ my GPS ground tracks will be all over the place, OR if I go back and forth I usually go deep upwind on a port tack and then deep downwind on a starboard tack. So my mowing the lawn will not be a reach, but totally different on different tacks. If I have lots of room I will wander and explore, particularly when with boats.

The 95+ is likely less stable in jibes. I've made attempts but I'll be clear that I have come very close but I have yet to complete a single flying jibe on the foil. I will often succeed without crashing on the 115+ now but it's something I'm trying to resolve very soon.

Here's a good example of ground track and downwind/upwind, in particular at 10:50. I start on a downwind leg and after a while I end up cutting back upwind at 11:50. You can see my speed drop off and the GPS track on the top left shows the angle. I could've gone deeper downwind, slower I think, if I wanted and made the angle even greater that day as I had plenty of wind:

Hi Dave, are you upgrading the Patrik foil?
If so it won't be an issue. I got one recently and have never felt so stable..It is seriously the easiest foil I have ever ridden. I had a sb 115+ for a while and never really got comfortable on it. First time out on the Patrik I took a guess at settings and sailed 71km and got 24kn without having to adjust anything apart from outhaul on the 8m as the wind picked up a bit. The front wing might not be as far forward as the 115+ which for me is a plus as I don't want all that front foot lift. Let me know if you want some settings.
