My dad reminded me that we had this old surfboard up in the garage roof. Im thinking about fixing it up and would like to know a little bit more about to board, if any one can tell me some info about the board that would be great. its a 7'2" single fin with no leg rope. I have had a look over it and can't find and dimensions written on the board. it just has the Morning star surfboards logo.
Heard a little bit about Col Smith in Michael Peterson's book that I'm 1/2 way through reading. Sounds like a bit of a hell man from back in the day (70's). Looks like its in great condition for its age & definately worthy of restoration. Wish I had a board like that ![]()
Yeah its Col Smith from Nth Narrabeen really radical goofy foot who was one of the instigators of vertical surfing especially on his backhand, charged big waves and was Tom Carrolls shaper in Toms early days, a lot of similarities in their styles, that board looks as though it would be mid 70s I'm guessing looks in good nick too, definitely worth restoring and surfing, doesn't look like it needs much done to it,i had a fantastic twinny from Morning Star which did the best roundhouse cutties, was such a smooth riding board, wish I still had it![]()
