<div>Finally got a good surf at shoulder to just overhead high waves. Loved the Sunova Darth at how it caught the waves. It sped up nicely just before the drop to enable me to stand up & go for it.
<div>
It takes the drop well without a nose dive due to the wide nose. My front foot pushing down on the board had it speeding down the line at the beginning. Then I was able to get my stance towards the back pad to do a cut back to get back to the wash. Its fast!
<div>
I just loved having a wide stance like being on a skate board! Lol! Now I can understand a board like this to be shorter with higher volume for those radical surfers. Such a different feel!
<div>
When the wave fattened up over a deep area I again put weight forward & it easily cruised along the unbroken wave just like a long board until the wave started walling up again for me to get back to normal surf stance.
<div
Very happy to have this board, the Darth 6ft 4" at 38.5 Litres between my 6ft 38 litre & my 8ft mini mal.
<div>At waist high & below I have found this board harder to catch waves & it is comparable to my 6ft board. But I think my 6ft board has the edge over the Darth in small waves due to changing it to a quad fin. Maybe the Darth might do the same. But I have yet to finish my testing the Darth as a thruster.
<div>
Personally I think the 6ft 4" Darth should be back to the higher volume standard that you had for those wanting to buy online without custom specs. I think it will get up on the plane sooner with weaker paddlers or for smaller waves. But hey, I am so glad that Bert Burger recomended less volume to match my weight as it is slightly harder to duck dive compared to a narrower nosed board of the same width & volume due to its narrower nose. But when on the plane it is more than enough.
<div>
Just to let you know. I am a cruiser not a bruiser type of surfer at a fairly fit 56 year old at about 78 kilos in weight. Who is mainly a SUP surfer that is transitioning back to shortboards as I get fitter & reminisce back to my younger single fin short board days. Lol!
<div>
Love your bullet proof board construction. Saying it as it is.
<div>Cheers,
<div>Wil

Haaaaa! Yeah it is too much to read. But I had to fit in what I experienced. Absolutely loved it in bigger than waist high surf.

Had a surf again in only waste to shoulder high waves today & found the board still surfed great. Have found my timing & positioning to the wave should be right. This goes for most, if not all short boards. I am starting to think that maybe it should be kept to the lesser volume which is half my body weight & no more.
So what I loved about this board is its full on planing ability & being able stand close to the nose when the waves get fat or on weak whitewash to keep it going until the waves get steeper. Then to get to the back pad for normal to radical surfing. Its definitey fast enough!
The more I surf it the more I love it!
