going in September school holidays
looking for villa advice - 4 adults 3 teenage kids
or
decent accomodation...wives involved so I gotta lift my standards![]()
near surf a must....of course![]()
cheers
I stayed at A-One house last August. Shipwrecks end, affordable but super pleasant. I would go straight back there if going again.
High end go to Villa Kasih, also in same area, very very nice, run by a Aus/UK couple.
Playgrounds end for views, I stayed Lembongan Reef Bungalow which was great, basic (local owned recommend restaurant ) but given your situation plenty of other joints nearby with similar views.
Whats your budget?
Thanks guys
got 2 couples and 3 kids (counted as adults though)

another ?....can I watch the AFL Grand final over there
You will love it there mate. I went there back in the 90s and early 2000s and stayed at one of the many resorts on Mushroom Beach. Pantai Tanjung is a good one we stayed at. Friendly people, easy accommodation, pool, fans/air-cons, and the food is fantastic. It's aimed at honeymooners, as the restaurant part of the resort is very romantic with candles, oohlala.. but it's not just for them. Take the kids, they can body surf just to the right of the bay and also have (inclusive), boat trips out to the surf spots - including of course ShipWrecks which is a gnarly right-hander with a steep take-off. Gets crowded though unfortunately. But most just float around. You have to be brazen and just go out to the start of the line-up. I had a few goes on my 7'2" thruster (mini-mal) and I was flying fast. Sometimes can barrel when on the lower tide. Don't forget your booties! That's a must as the shallow reef is quite sharp. Good luck

Oh and don't forget the local attractions. We went into the Gala-Gala Underground house, built by one man. Fascinating story there. Also check out Mama Mia's Bar&Grill with a small tour of the history of Nusa Lembognan and the seaweed industry. If you're into the night-life, yeah maybe accomo closer to the reef-breaks would suit you, like Lembognan Island Village Villas, or take a taxi from the West side to the East side of the island. Cheap as cheaps.
Thanks guys

Its a great spot regardless hire a bike and head over the collapsing one way only, two way squeeze, suspended bridge to Ceningan nice restaurant overlooking the cliffs (Ceningan Cliffs restaurant rough road but worth it) to Nusa Penida or have lunch at the Aussie own place (I think its the The Palms Ceningan ) that over looks the Ceningan surf break and more.
The view from the top of the Reef is stunning.............Pool at the bottom is great for cooling off after the climb ![]()

LOL I havn't been there since 2012 & stayed in no. 10 which at that time was 2nd from the top. Definitely a noticeable climb you don't wanna be doing too often, but with careful planning isn't too much of an issue. We asked them to bring brekky up to us at a certain time, I left my board down next to the bar & spent most of the time chilling by the pool when we were at home base.. Lembongan's all about the tide's, can't plan a dawny or late arvo with less crew unless the tides allow it. Out front anyway
.....You will have an epic view from any room above 1 & 2. If Mushroom's still working there ask him to call his bro for a boat, think his name was Mad'e if I remember right. Good bloke with a good boat called the Sista. Apologies if info is outdated, I havn't been there for a long time. September should have swell *fingers crossed for yaz* the snorkling is awesome round past the mangroves, crystal bay, the other place past there & the Stingrays next door at Nusa Penida I havn't checked out yet coz there was good swells the last last few times I've been. Nusa Penida itself is an option for exporation these days going by YT vids. Looks like a fun quiet place to cruise around on a scooter & just a stones throw away if the swells small...letuz know how ya go, hope ya score ![]()

Yeah its crazy, big swell last time I was there. All breaks dry reef at dawn, little lappers after brekky, 1/2 a foot on our way out on a boat to go Snorkling & double head at Playgrounds by lunch...yep tides uber important to keep track of & juggling the crowd vs sweep. YA wanna rock up paddle fit lol ![]()
Don't stress if you wake up to this, its a typical scene. You need high tides or the reefs simply fully exposed, 2 a day is best, midday not so good unless its big. Pic taken from Rm10 across Shipwrecks to Agung, yet another consideration these days in our chase for waves haha. Preferably one that extends your stay ![]()
