Hi All,

I'm heading to Cocos Island in the school holidays with my family and was hoping to do a bit of surfing, probably at The Shack. The swell forecast at this stage is around 2.5m and I was curious to know what size the wave would be in terms of wave face at this swell? Might help me decide which boards to take. I was thinking just 2 short boards, my all rounder squash tail and either a smaller wave board, my rounded pin or just a backup all rounder.

I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has been before.

Cheers, Waz.

hi WAzza
been a few times' kite and surf
had epic indo style 6 ft long long meaty walls on one occasion,
mostly softish waves in the clearest water , always off shore

can't tell what swell height equates too, thou, we never bothered with that, just turn up and surf

do the drift dive - really good
cheers

Thanks Bolgo. Very helpful.

Sounds like my 2 all rounders will do the job. Just in case the airline damages one.

Is the drift dive for scuba or snorkel?

Thought I would give a quick update to answer my original question.

2.5m swell was around shoulder to head high. There was a 4m day while I was there which was in the double overhead range.

Had a great time and will keep the stoke going for quite a while.
