looking at purchasing a wagon/van/ute one that truly suites my lifestyle which is a very simple one.

I work 10 mins from home, rarely hit the highway unless picking up a board,so with all this I'm thinking
of something else other than my current suv,not keen on having to climb to get boards off and on so
nothing too high.Budget around 35K max!

I had a VW short wheel base van that could slide an 11 footer in . Had that for 18 years and now have a Hi Lux turbo diesel 4x4. The van is really handy because if its raining you can get changed under the tail gate as well as lock boards inside. Handy

Go a van Mac.
Reverse into the spot and open the back door/s and sit and watch the surf.
Stick the LB in the back no probs (up the centre or front passenger seat down. Beats the roof racks.

A guy at the local has a ford transit van. He has roof racks inside the van. He carries two longboards inside the van up in the roof space from racks which hang down from the interior roof. That leaves the back of the van clear for his camping fridge bed etc.

we bought this for our son...he only has his auto licence so I'm using it until he gets his manual licence...VW caddy life.....sensational little car....that's a 9'4" under my knife and all my kite gear sitting on top of the rear seat folded up...this is the short wheelbase...for 35K you might go close to the new long wheelbase foremotion there 4 wheel drive ...notice above the front seats there is a parcel rack thingy.... you would get a longboard nose in there and could build a rack across the back and have em stored above....there are bolt holes already there...I'm into one as soon as I have to give this to my boy...1.9 diesel 6.2 litres too 100 ks the new six speed auto is meant to be better...check em out...great surfers wagon

hey mac forgot to tell you...they are dual sliding doors in back so a set of roof racks and you don't have to climb, you can just open the doors and stand on the sills...even a short arse like me can tie them on

This is the perfect solution. Probably write it a bit of it off each year with the tax man then as it is a work type vehicle. Go the VW transporter.

I love my Nissan Xtrail, you can pick them up new for less than 35k. Probably still some end of year run outs going. Has like a couple of slide out cupboards under the back that are very handy for surf related gear. Reverse camera for those days the car parks chockers & the auto is so smooth you don't feel the gear changes. You can sip away at your coffee while taking off at lights. Also like 4 drink holders, 2 of them are heated or cooled from the cars air con & the glove box can be switched on as a cooler...I can wack the 666 on the roof, 9'3 with room to spare in the back and a couple of shortboards beside it and still have plenty of room for the wetsuit bucket

Thanks for your serious input arkee, unlike that Lacey dude

I think thats a little short in length I'd perfer to open the rear door and boards fit in without the hassle of dropping the front seat, hell where would Lacey sit, hmmm could be the car.

Perfect SP,I can sell coffee on the side

I was looking at a transporter a while back, people who own them love them but most have said buy anything other than white because there are so many forsake and its hard to sell a white one unless you give it away.

Ror that sort of money you could get a VW multi van with not too many K's
Very comfortable, very versatile and can fit long boards in-between the seats if you take rear bench seat out. Best vehicle I have ever owned(and I've owned a few)
