The last few surfs I have found while hanging ten, it is best to bend knees to the point that I am almost sitting on the nose of my board...

Really helps to hold the nose above the water and stop nosediving.

Can hold a hang ten on the right wave for 10 to 15m now.

Stay stoked,
TC.

yeah I have been trying this a lot more in recent times and having a lot more success. Feels a bit weird at first but its certainly reducing my classic nose sinking exit strategy at the end of a wave I still just love to stay there just incase I can stay longer on the nose - even though I know I should get back

He does a good job but does not that relaxed in the comp mode - looks like he is holding back - seems very tight and unnatural. In free surfing vids he looks totally relaxed and natural. He also only looks like he weighs 70kg dripping wet at best which makes it totally unfair on some of us

Also remember some basic physics of "nose-riding"...
It helps when there's some wall... It helps when;
1) The tail of the board in back in the breaking wave, and the whitewater is pushing down on the tail; and
2) The rail at the nose is getting a bit if bite in the wave, and the wave is also trying to lift the nose

For heavier blokes, you will need either "sh!t-loads" of 1 or 2, or a mix of both!

Have another look at that vid - he definitely does not look that relaxed in it. I think he looks much better free surfing!!! 90Kg plus is no drama - just have a board that is suitable. If I lived up your way I would have a big asse board built for nose riding only ! Given that I surf beachies and dredging reefs 95% of the time there is no need to own one although I still want one
