I am looking to sell the board below.
As far as i can tell its a "Custom Built Surfboards" Makaha model, i think maybe from the mid 60's?. It was my Dad's I have had it for about 15 years and its time to sell it. While I understand the retro appeal of it, I am not a surfer.
Can anybody shed some light on its history and a value? If this is in the wrong section, I apologise.

Great name great board. Geez if that was my old mans I'd be keeping it. It's wirth whatever a collector wants the pay. It's true value I don't know maybe ask an expert.
Looks like the company is still going www.surfboardsmakaha.com/
That looks in very nice condition for the age of the board it's definitely 60s with the wide stringer in the middle and D fin,I can't say exactly what it's worth but ball park would be $600 to $2000 but like Mac said it's only worth what a prospective buyer will pay for it.Nice board ![]()

Thank you for the quick replies. I initially thought it was a Makaha brand from Hawaii. I got onto a really helpful guy from there. He told me it wasn't a Makaha brand. So I went back to the google and on an Aust site found the company, Custom built surfboards who were from Brunswick in Vic. Thanks again gents.

Makaha boards have been around for years so I'd say quality product, do they have the branding of others I'd say not, which won't help attracting big bucks.
Given the information - I say keep it & find a wall to hang it on for posterity's sake , she'd look gas up on a wall mate ![]()

Yes my first glance I thought of Ron Surfboards mainly due to art work etc
Also try vintage surfboard collectors on facebook
that's where I searched for my info
knowledgeable bunch on there.
Found this image, shows Makaha is still going strong

Nice looking board that ![]()
That board is an early 62-3 Australian made board not Hawaiin...possibly by Ron. They were not a collectable or desirable board but as it presents so nicely could be worth maybe $700-800 max if you got the right buyer.![]()
I'd keep it if you had space and display it as it was your fathers.
If you're moving it on try Ebay at a Buy it Now/ Best Offer price you decide and then haggle ![]()
Did you GO DOWN?
You know,to Roosters season launch...last nights parade in Darlo?![]()
