Thumbs Up

With the reserve bank cutting the cash rate by another quarter of a percent on Tuesday how will that affect the dead flat second hand surfboard market where you live?
It's a question being asked by many in the vintage surfboard world especially as the prices of many desired collectable boards has plummeted over the previous 3 years.
I buy and sell a few boards occasionally and recently let go of a very clean McTavish 4pace 9footer model at below cost to shift it.
I started at $800 which was really quite fair as I'd spent time and cash doing a few rail repairs plus added a legrope and cover to it but after a few months it had hardly a nibble. I ended up dropping the price to $600 and eventually accepted an offer of $450 cash for it.
By comparison I sold another McTavish in slightly worse order in 2022 for $1000 and it sold within 2 days of being listed online.
I'm based in the Hunter Region which traditionally has always had a healthy second hand board market but at a recent surfboard expo I attended as a stall holder sales were pretty much terrible across all the stall holders.
I'd love to know how things have been in the other market areas across the country, if things have been as poor or have picked up on the back of 3 interest rate cuts in 2025.
Below is some pics of the bargain McTavish I let go.
