Beautifully shot. Some great surfing line up shots. Poor script, dodgy acting, little for the audience to attach too and the plot is confusing.

Saw it on release day. The action scenes were good. So whatdya reckon, Ted?

I've read nothing but crap reviews Ted.
I think the paper had 1 star out of 5.
The original was a cracker.

Hard to disagree with what anyone has said. I chose not too read one review or anything on it as I knew it would probably disappoint me. Today was cheapo Tuesday and pouring with rain so off we went.

Story line was pretty much the same as last time round. Annoyed me as it just seemed a remake of the previous one with a bit more tits and ass thrown in and some unbelievable action sports. Once I worked out the storyline was the same (3 mins) it was pretty easy to work out what was going to happen next and who would die when (esp that scence on the mountain after the bank incident went belly up).

As Drip said some amazing action scenes - the opening scene felt like you were watching a James Bond movie. Amazing stuff. Shame the story line never developed. I imagine it was aimed at the audience age when we first watched it - maybe they forgot we had all aged 20 years in the meantime!

I think I would probably score it a 2 out 5. And most of that would be for the scenery and action shorts. Zero for the story line / script. I was very disappointed with the surfing scenes. They spent huge amounts of time (read somewhere that there were 61 cameras on Chopes) and money on that part of it and I just felt short changed. Not too many waves are ridden. And I was expecting a lot more. Some of the footage they have is from insane angles. I imagine a few of the camera-people got chopped up at Chopes ! I hope they release some more of the outtakes as there must be some incredible stuff that has just gone to waste ! I really wish the surfing aspect could have been a bit more.

The rock climbing scenes were insane. Either there are some truly mad people out there with insane skills or some amazing trick photography was going on - maybe a combo of both?

JB - Yep

If you have a super duper TV at home then save your money and stream it in a few weeks time would be my advice

Should have stopped at point 1.
Brother in law flies with Qantas so I get the pirate copies for free. Won't be asking for Pointbreak.
Anybody seen the latest Star Wars movie ?

Scotty - Yes - The Force Awakens is a sequel to The Empire Strikes Back - set 30yrs later. Whilst it supposedly 'ignores' ROTJ it does no harm to watch it...

FYI - I have seen it twice at the cinemas. Go see it on a big screen with the best surround sound you can find... I've seen both 3D and normal - both are good; just depends if you like 3D as it was not filmed in 3D - that was done in post production.

I am a die-hard original Pointbreak nutter of a fan, and have not seen the new version - yet! I always believe in giving the benefit of the doubt.

BUT, if the ending scene has anything like Peter Phelps, who's an Aussie, pretending to be an Aussie - I'll throw my popcorn over the heads of the audience!
