Got delivered today so I waxed it and took it out in some pretty iffy 1 - 2 ft rubbish
I wanted i real noserider and that's what I got, I only had the one left that allowed me to soak my toes in snot for any length of time, but it was more than enough to prove it works.
Other things I noticed in my first sesh:
She paddles well and should be a good wave catcher
It loves a nice clean face and thinking you're going to be able to ride her through the wash to get to a good face, is probably not the way to go.
The ride is a strange sensation for me, it's kinda, plush and armchair, nothing harsh, I liked it, it's the way a noserider should feel, it lets you concentrate on moving around. There was not a bit of chop out there today, but my harder railed pintails would have transfered more of it through the board.
And as far as moving around goes, I need to work on getting a bit further back for my turns. It didn't take long before I was improving my turns, but that was only because I was throwing my rear foot further back. I really need to get all of me to the back.
I think I'm going to enjoy learning how to ride this one, it's a pity I only have this weekend to learn before I'm out of the water for up to 6 weeks. but at least I'll have something to look forward to when I'm allowed back in.
obct she'll ride the white water. ive gone through and around big session of white on mine.
just get down lower/ lower centre and she'll trim and speed clear to the good stuff![]()
Mate that's a thing of beauty, only had one ride on mine too but it sure is showing some potential. I found it carried well through the foam to get back onto green water actually.
Happy that you're happy!!
P.s. What fin did you put in?

Not the hot log, but this is the fin I'm using
Nice looking stick OB - hope to see you back in the water shortly - good luck. If your board is going to get lonely over that 6 week period I could take her for a spin if you like? ![]()

Nice of you to offer Ted, but the queue starts behind me! I shared the slop with OB yesterday and it looks like he has another board that goes left! In the flesh, it's even prettier than the photos.
Ob definitely need to be right back on the tail to turn a hotlog mate back foot above the fin I dont really try to do many turns on mine mate just paddle into anything and go with the flow I find mine excels in clean faces, broken white water and is great for getting around closing out sections to reformimg waves also I have been amazed at just how far it will travel on a bump of water plenty of times I have been ready to pull off and have gone another fifty meters
Is that a "brown nose" ob? ![]()
Nope, not brown, Burgandy.
real men will go for a feed down at the lazy Y all month long ![]()

Nice obct, saw that board in the racks with vanders....and we'll it was that nice I did not even touch it![]()
Hope you get heaps of waves on it....I'm still waiting to get mine![]()
Went out again this arvo, just before devil wind turned nasty, and already I'm noticing improvements.
Had a 100% strike rate with everything I paddled for, but best of all, I found the 2 sweat spots I need to paddle from, one for the steep takeoffs and the other for the fullish stuff.
I remember telling Del that I needed some sort of a reference on the deck that's back from the nose because I'm too useless to always know where to paddle from, he made me feel much better by saying to me that, on a long board, he always likes to have a reference.
This time I made sure I stayed in the wash for as long as possible, and although I'm unable to crouch, I handled it much better than yesterday.
This will definitely be my go to board this summer.
